Our Organization
Who We Are
Jill’s House is a Christian nonprofit organization that loves and serves families raising children, adolescents, and young adults, ages 6-22, with profound intellectual disabilities through short-term, overnight respite care and holistic family support services. Regularly throughout the year, parents send their children with intellectual disabilities to our “respite resort” in Vienna, VA, or to one of our camp locations around the country for 24-48 hour stays. The kids get an amazing experience in a safe, fun, loving, and celebratory environment.
Meanwhile, their parents get a break. They get to sleep through the night. They get to go on a date. They get to give undivided attention to their other children. Most families take these things for granted. But for Jill’s House families, these are rare and precious gifts—they’re a lifeline.
Our Programs
By Activities
Our programs are structures around providing engaging activities for kids with intellectual disabilities that are customized for their abilities. We provide everything from Day Camps and School Night Programs to Overnight Care and Weekend Adventures.
Our Programs
By Locations
Jill’s House provides engaging activities to kids with intellectual disabilities across the country. We currently have locations serving the DC Metro Area, Virginia, New Jersey, Illinois, Tennessee and Washington state.
Jill’s House Golf Classic
Join us at the Jill’s House 2023 Golf Classic, this year at International Country Club! The course may have changed, but the purpose hasn’t. The Jill’s House Golf Classic still benefits children with intellectual disabilities and their families and features wonderful food, an impressive raffle, and much more.

Stories of Rest and Renewal
The Farrell Family
We are truly grateful for Jill’s House. We think it’s amazing that Olivia has had this opportunity and that Jill’s House allows her to thrive in a safe environment among other kids.

The Sullivan Family
Kids with special needs might be overwhelming or intimidating to some people. God doesn’t make mistakes, and He has a plan for every single person on this planet. Everyone at Jill’s House seems to know that; they embrace that, and they love and serve our kids and families so beautifully!
The Mann Family
When you first look at respite care, there can be a little bit of guilt. But it’s nice to know that we can do something with our other children, or something for the two of us, and Isaac will also be having a good time with people we trust.
The Yao Family
Mimi does not regularly interact with people outside of school and at home, so Jill’s House has become another home for her. Jill’s House provides stability and predictability for her.
The Roland Family
Zoe’s weekends at Jill’s House help her to feel like a grown-up girl. She gets to try on an independent life and enjoys doing things that other kids get to enjoy!
The Kalata Family
Although Jill’s House is his special place, and the experiences are unique for him, we all feel like we have won the lottery. He looks forward to his visits so much that we can’t help but feel grateful in our hearts.
The Wangsness Family
They don’t see kids like Leksi as a burden; they see them as blessings. We also hear from Jill’s House staff that they are honored to be with our kids. It is incredibly beautiful to know that Jill’s House loves our sweet Leksi and sees her as we do.
The Anderson-Page Family
What I love the most about Jill’s House is that Steven can participate in various activities, and he is not made to feel limited in his ability. So many people are available to help each child experience all the activities.
