About our Respite Lodge
At our “respite lodge” in the Washington, D.C., area, every room, activity, mural, and staff member serve as a reflection of the immense value children with intellectual disabilities have. This 42,000 square-foot resort was created to give these children an unforgettable overnight experience that they cannot get anywhere else, all under the loving and skilled supervision of highly trained staff and nurses. And while the kids are having the time of their lives with friends, their parents can rest, knowing their child is in safe, loving, and highly skilled hands.

Stories of Love and Compassion

The Butler Family
Dorothy needs respite, too. She is so happy at Jill's House. She wants to go there, she has friends there, and she gets to do things she loves with wonderful people.

The Wangsness Family
They don’t see kids like Leksi as a burden; they see them as blessings. We also hear from Jill’s House staff that they are honored to be with our kids. It is incredibly beautiful to know that Jill’s House loves our sweet Leksi and sees her as we do.

The Winiecki Family
Our daughter Wendy has such a funny sense of humor! She is entertaining and very interesting, but she is hard to get to know because she is nonverbal.
